A propósito do tema lançado para discussão esta semana, e como exemplo da colaboração entre artistas e cientistas, sugiro o site
Artists in Lab um programa de cooperação de algumas entidades suíças cujas principais finalidades são
"to share common goals, to broaden the dialogue, generate ideas and raise awareness of the contributions both artists and scientists can make to the larger challenges of our time"
"to encourage the development of the primary creative forces shared by both disciplines: the quest for interpretations of nature, matter and human desire as well as the interest to comprehend, explore, reveal, sustain, create and build."
Parece-me que nesta última frase reside a essência daquilo que une as duas disciplinas.
Também há iniciativas nacionais com os mesmo objectivos, por exemplo a colaboração entre a Ciência Viva e a Direcção Geral das Artes.

Artists in Lab é um link excelentemente partilhado! Que interactividades interessantes há entre artistas e cientistas.
Achei que este objectivo do Artists in Lab, retrata muito bem o que se poderá entender por arte e por ciência: «participants can explore alternative futures, an environment where the artists can remind us of who and what we are, while the scientists can re-define our role as the dominant predator of the planet, and to tell us how the world works or how it can be sustained.»
Que tema refrescante este.
